  • How can I prevent tooth decay?

Keeping your teeth clean is the best way to prevent tooth decay. Make sure you are brushing and flossing after meals. If you are unable to brush or floss, even rinsing your mouth out with water can remove loose food that might be in your mouth.

  • Why are my gums bleeding?

Bleeding gums can be a sign that you have gum disease. Other symptoms of gum disease include swollen gums, red or irritated gums, or your teeth appear longer. If these symptoms last more than a week, please reach out to our office to schedule an exam.

  • What should I do if I chip my tooth?

The first thing to do is to rinse your mouth with warm saltwater to remove food or blood to reduce the chance of an infection. Then, place a piece of gauze or a cool rag in your mouth and press on the area that is bleeding. You can purchase dental cement to temporarily cover the damaged area of the tooth but it is better to get it treated as soon as you can. Jenny Chen Pediatric and Family Dentistry offers emergency dental services to get you in the same day.
